Mississippi State exploded for 10 runs in the third inning en route to an, 11-3, victory over UCF Saturday afternoon in the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
Trailing 3-0 entering the home half of the frame, the Bulldogs put up the second-most runs in an inning in the tournament's history. Fifteen different Bulldogs came to bat in the inning, with Mississippi State (6-3) recording 10 consecutive base hits during the inning. The 10 hits in a row also all came with two out in the frame. Fa Leilua and Kat Moore each had home runs in the inning.
Every member of the Bulldog starting lineup had at least one hit and one run scored, and seven batters had at least one RBI.
Jazmine Esparza had an RBI double in the losing effort for UCF (3-4).
