PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico - Tournament MVP Kennedy Harp’s three-run triple ignited #12 Florida State to a 8-0 five inning win over #4 Oklahoma State to close out session I at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.
Harp’s three-run triple gave FSU a 3-0 lead in the third.
Oklahoma State had beaten the Noles 9-6 in the opener of the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge on Thursday.
FSU’s Annabelle Widra (1-0) retired the first 11 batters she faced before a single by Amanda Hasler in the fourth. Widra allowed two hits and struck out one in her four innings of work to get the win. Jazzy Francik, who also earned a spot on the All-tournament team, pitched a perfect fifth in relief.
OSU’s Katie Kutz did not allow a hit until Kyrstina Hartley’s infield single to lead off the third and Florida State loaded the bases with back-to-back walks with one out before Harp’s triple cleared the bases for a 3-0 lead.
The Seminoles added two insurance runs in the fourth, taking advantage of a pair of errors followed by Krystina Hartley’s sacrifice fly pushing the lead to 5-0.
Jahni Kerr ‘s two-run single in the seventh gave the Noles a 7-0 lead before Isa Torres’ RBI single ended the game.
Harp, Torres and Kerr each had hits for FSU.
Katie Dack also earned a spot on the All-tournament team for Florida State.Ruby Meylan and Megan Delgadillo were named to the All-tournament team from Oklahoma State.
