PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico - Alyssa Brito hit a pair of homers and drove in four and #1 Oklahoma used a six-run sixth to beat Long Beach State 11-3 at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge at Nancy Almaraz Stadium.
The Sooners belted four homers in the game and won their 57th straight game improving to 4-0 on the season.
Brito was named the Most Valuable Player of the PV College Challenge first session while Kasidi Pickering and Kelly Maxwell were named to the All-tournament team.
Cydney Sanders and Tiara Jennings also homered for Oklahoma.
Brito’s three-run homer to left center gave the Sooners a 3-0 lead in the top of the first.
The Beach would pull even in the second as Savannah Magdan delivered a two-run double to left field before Jacquelyn Bicknar’s RBI single to left tied the game 3-3.
The Sooners regained the lead 4-3 in the fourth on a solo homer to left by Sanders.
Brito added her second homer of the day, a solo shot to left, in the sixth as the Sooners increased the lead to 5-3 which started the six-run outburst.
Ella Parker and Riley Ludlam drew bases loaded walks before Tiare Jennings belted a two-run homer to cap the sixth.
OU added one more run in the seventh on an RBI single by pinch hitter Ella Parker.
Karlie Keeney threw 4.3 innings of hitless relief and did not walk a batter while striking out two to get the win.
