PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – The Indiana Hoosiers started off their Puerto Vallarta College Challenge in style with a 10-0 victory over the North Dakota State Bison under the lights at Nancy Almaraz Field.
Indiana racked up 10 runs on 11 hits, with eight different players registering a hit in the contest. Aly VanBrandt led the Hoosiers with two RBIs. As a team, Indiana was very aggressive on the basepaths, forcing the Bison into some tough fielding choices and five errors.
In the pitcher’s circle, Jenae Berry was dominant, pitching four scoreless innings and giving up two hits with three strikeouts. Berry remains near perfect on the season, not allowing a run in any of her three outings. On the year, she has pitched 11.2 innings and given up just four hits.
North Dakota State will look to get into the win column in Puerto Vallarta tomorrow when it takes on Florida International, while Indiana returns to action with a double-header tomorrow against Illinois State and Boise State.
