Wright Allows Just One Hit Leading #11 Duke to Win over #18 Nebraska

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico - Jala Wright allowed just one hit and struck out eight leading #11 Duke to a 6-1 win over #18 Nebraska at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.

Wright took a perfect game into the seventh inning before Nebraska lead off hitter BIllie Andrews hit a solo homer to left to break up the perfect game and shutout.

Kelsey Zampa had two hits and drove in two while Ana Gold scored three runs for Duke.

Aminah Vega’s two-run double in the first gave the Blue Devils an early 2-0 lead.Zampa drove in a run with an infield single in the third extending the lead to 3-0.The Blue Devils added two runs in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Vega before Zampa laid down a perfect safety squeeze which scored Vega for a 5-0 lead.Jada Baker homered to left in the sixth extending the lead to 6-0.
