CLEVELAND STATE 72, COPPIN STATE 70

CLEVELAND, OH – Sara Guerreiro scored five critical points in overtime as Cleveland State held off Coppin State to earn a berth in the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT.

The Vikings (25-9) will host Duquesne (21-12) in the next round; tipoff is set for Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. ET.

An 8-0 scoring run by Coppin State to start the fourth quarter was countered with another 8-0 run by Cleveland State; Jordana Reisma’s free throw for Cleveland State tied it at 58-all with six seconds left in regulation.

In overtime, a Reisma layup made it 69-65 for the Vikings with 32 seconds left; Angel Jones’ layup for Coppin State cut the lead to 69-67 and a big free throw from Mickayla Perdue pushed the Vikings lead to 71-67. Cire Worley hit a 3-pointer with two seconds left for the final points in the contest.

Perdue, the Horizon league player of the year this season, closed with 25 points and Reisma had 21 points. Guerreiro closed with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

For the Eagles (19-15), Jones had 27 points, Cire Worley scored 13 points and Laila Lawrence had 10 rebounds.

PURDUE FORT WAYNE 87, OLD DOMINION 61

FORT WAYNE, IN – Purdue Fort Wayne blew open a tie game in the third quarter, outscoring Old Dominion 24-7 in the frame before wrapping up the victory and a spot in the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT.

The Mastodons (26-8) will host Butler (16-17) in the next round; tipoff is set for Friday, March 28 at 7 p.m. ET.

Purdue Fort Wayne scored 29 points in the final 10 minutes to breeze to the win. Audra Emerson scored 17 points; Lauren Ross had 15 points and 11 rebounds for the Mastodons and Amellia Bromenschenkel scored 14 points. Jordan Reid added 13 points and Jazzlyn Linbo scored 12 points.

The Monarchs (18-16) saw Simaru Fields score 15 points to go with six rebounds. Simone Cunningham had 14 points and 12 rebounds, and En'Dya Buford closed with 11 points. ODU was 3-for-22 in 3-pointers.
