CHARLESTON 76, HOWARD 56

CHALRESTON, SC -- Four Cougars scored in double figures as the College of Charleston advanced to the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT in convincing fashion with a 76-56 victory over Howard.

It was all Charleston early on as the Cougars raced out to a 19-8 lead after the first quarter. Charleston never looked back as it outscored Howard in three of the four quarters and held the Bison to just 29 percent shooting from the field.

Taryn Barbot led Charleston with 19 points and six rebounds while Taylor Barbot registered a double-double with 15 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. McKinley Brooks-Sumpter added 16 points and eight rebounds on an efficient 8-of-15 shooting, and Lara Rohkohl added a double-double of her own with 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Cougars were a perfect 17-for-17 from the free throw line in the game.

Charleston will travel to Rutgers to take on the Scarlet Knights in the Super 16 on Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. ET.

NORTH TEXAS 78, UT ARLINGTON 67

DENTON, TX – After a slow start, North Texas found its touch in outscoring UT Arlington by 20 points in the second quarter and held off a late push by the Lady Mavs to advance out of Round 2 and into the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT

The Mean Green (25-8) will play at Troy in the next round, with tipoff set for Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. ET. The 25 victories are the most ever in the program’s history.

The game got off to an unusual start – North Texas was just 3-for-18 from the field in the first quarter but trailed just 16-15 thanks to nine free throws and UT Arlington having eight turnovers. In the second quarter, the Mean Green took control with a 20-0 scoring run capped by a 3-pointer from Ereauna Hardaway.

Kyla Deck had 15 points for North Texas; Hardaway and Desiree Wooten each had 13 points, while Tommisha Lampkin and Shadasia Brackens each scored 12 points. Brackens added nine rebounds.

The Lady Mavs (18-14) saw Koi Love finish with 20 points and nine rebounds. Avery Brittingham and Taliyah Clark both scored 12 points.

TROY 85, CHATTANOOGA 72

TROY, AL – Backed by a balanced scoring attack and a strong effort on the boards, Troy moved past Chattanooga in Round 2 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT.

The Trojans (21-13) had five players hit double figures in scoring; they advance to the Super 16 round and will next host North Texas (25-8) with tipoff set for Thursday, March 27 at 7 p.m. ET.

Troy built a 63-51 lead after three quarters, pulling ahead thanks to a 13-2 run in the final 2:27 of the frame, and closed with a 43-30 lead in rebounds.

Zay Dyer had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Trojans; Fortuna Ngnawo closed with 17 points and nine rebounds, and Ashley Baez had 13 points. Brianna Jackson and

Shaulana Wagner each closed with 11 points, with Wagner coming through with eight assists.

The Mocs (17-15) saw Caia Elisaldez score 21 points, with Gianna Corbitt adding 20 points. Sigrun Olafsdottir added 10 points.

ABILENE CHRISTIAN 75, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 53

CONWAY, AR – Abilene Christian’s Payton Hull and Meredith Mayes combined for 48 points as the Wildcats utilized a big second quarter to knock off Central Arkansas, 75-53, and advance to the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT.

Trailing by four points after the fourth quarter, Abilene Christian turned the tide with a 29-11 second quarter to take full control of the game heading into halftime. The Wildcats forced the Sugar Bears into seven turnovers in the quarter alone, and shot 11-of-18 from the field.

Leading the charge for the Wildcats was the two-headed monster of Hull and Mayes. Hull led the squad with 28 points, connecting on 5-of-10 3-pointers, while Mayes added 20 points and nine rebounds on an efficient 10-of-14 shooting. As a team, Abilene Christian shot 47.1 percent from the field and held a 48-8 advantage over Central Arkansas in points in the paint.

Abilene Christian will take on Illinois State in a neutral site game at Illinois Wesleyan on Thursday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

LOUISIANA TECH 71, TEXAS SOUTHERN 64

RUSTON, LA – Jordan Marshall and Robyn Lee came through with impressive double-doubles for Louisiana Tech, which prevailed despite making 27 turnovers.

The Lady Techsters (17-15) will host Lindenwood (23-10) in the Super 16 round, with tipoff set for Wednesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Marshall had 19 points and 14 rebounds, Lee came through with 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Paris Bradley added 10 rebounds for Louisiana Tech, which had a 51-32 edge on the boards.

The Tigers (17-16) saw Aylasia Fantroy score 16 points; Jaida Belton came through with 12 points and 11 rebounds, Daeja Holmes scored 11 points and Treasure Thompson scored 10 points.

NORTH DAKOTA STATE 68, NEW MEXICO STATE 65

FARGO, ND -- In a contest that remained tight throughout, North Dakota State held on with a 68-65 victory over New Mexico State to advance to the Super 16 of the 2025 Postseason WNIT.

The Bison led for the majority of the game but were unable to pull away from the Aggies, with a nine-point lead in the third quarter being the largest lead of the game. Still, North Dakota State found a way down the stretch. North Dakota State shot 52.4 percent from the field and was aggressive getting to the foul line, converting on 21-of-26 from the charity stripe.

NDSU was led by Avery Koenen, who had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Abby Krzewinski added 15 points and Abby Schulte had 11 points to round out the scoring for the Bison.

New Mexico State kept the game close, thanks in large part to its own three-headed monster. Fanta Gassama led the Aggies with 22 points, while Molly Kaiser scored 20 and Jaila Harding had 16 to account for 58 of the team's 65 points.

North Dakota State will host Washington State on Thursday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET in the Super 16.

WASHINGTON STATE 57, UTAH VALLEY 54

PULLMAN, WA – Washington State shot just 31 percent from the field but had all the right moves late, with Astera Tuhina hitting a go-ahead 3-pointer with 28 seconds left to send the Cougars into the Super 16.

The Cougars (21-13) will play at North Dakota State (20-11) in the next round; tipoff is set for Thursday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

Dayana Mendes tied the game at 52-all for WSU with 1:31 to go; Tahlia White’s shot pushed Utah Valley up, 54-52, at the 1:01 mark. Tuhina hit her key shot, and the Cougars got some breathing room on a basket from Eleonora Villa with 10 seconds to go.

Villa had 15 points; Mendes closed with 11 rebounds.

The Wolverines (19-13) got 10 points and 10 rebounds from Danja Stafford. White scored 12 points, Tessa Chaney added 10 points and Halle Nelson came through with 15 rebounds.
